This privacy policy explains how kenoresults.nz collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit the website. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and its information privacy principles. kenoresults.nz is an information site about Keno and other lottery games. We do not run any games, and we do not handle tickets, player accounts or payments.
In short: we collect as little information about you as we can. We do not use advertising networks, behavioural tracking, a newsletter or analytics tools such as Google Analytics. The only information we handle is what you choose to send us by email, plus a small amount of technical data that is needed to deliver the website safely.
Last updated: October 2026.
Who is responsible for your information
kenoresults.nz is represented by the website’s owner, who is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. If you have a question about how your information is handled, or want to make a privacy request, please use our contact page.
What personal information we collect
We collect two kinds of information.
Information you send us by email
When you email us, we handle:
- your email address
- your name, if you give it
- the content of your message
- anything else you choose to tell us
You decide what to include. We only need enough to answer your question, so please do not send sensitive details such as identity documents or bank information.
Technical information collected automatically
When you visit the website, some technical information is collected automatically by our hosting provider, Hetzner, and our security and delivery service, Cloudflare:
- IP address, which is used to deliver pages and protect against misuse
- browser type and version
- operating system
- referring page (the page you came from)
- the time of your visit
- the pages you view on the website
This information is collected through server logs and necessary cookies. It is used only to keep the website running and to protect it against technical attacks. We do not use it to build a profile of you.
Cookies
We use only necessary cookies. These are required for the website to work and to be delivered securely, so we do not ask you to accept or decline them.
The necessary cookies come from:
- Cloudflare – security and delivery, for example telling real visitors apart from automated bots
- LiteSpeed Cache – caching, so that pages load faster
- WordPress – core cookies that the website needs in order to function
We do not use:
- Google Analytics or any other analytics tool
- advertising cookies or behavioural tracking
- social media plugins that track visitors
- affiliate or marketing trackers
- third-party cookies other than the technical services listed above
You can delete cookies and block new ones in your browser settings at any time. Bear in mind that this may affect how the website works. You will find more detail in our cookie policy.
Why we collect and use your information
We only collect personal information for a clear purpose connected with running the website, as the Privacy Act 2020 requires. Those purposes are:
- Answering your messages – we use your email address and the content of your message to reply to you.
- Running and delivering the website – technical data is needed to send pages to your device.
- Security and protection against misuse – Cloudflare uses technical data to block attacks and unwanted automated traffic.
- Understanding search performance – we use Google Search Console, which shows us aggregated, anonymous figures about how the site appears in Google Search. It does not identify individual visitors.
- Meeting legal obligations – where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
We do not use your information for advertising or marketing.
How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for:
- Email enquiries: up to three years after the last contact, after which they are deleted, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
- Server logs at Hetzner: normally deleted automatically after 14 to 30 days.
- Cloudflare security logs: normally kept for around 30 days.
- Necessary cookies: from a single browsing session (removed when you close your browser) up to around one year for Cloudflare’s security cookies.
When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Who we share your information with
We never sell your personal information, and we do not pass it on for advertising or marketing. We use the following third-party service providers to run the website, and they handle information on our behalf:
- Hetzner Online GmbH (hosting) – handles server logs and IP addresses as part of the hosting service. Location: Germany (European Union). Privacy policy
- Cloudflare, Inc. (security and delivery) – handles IP addresses and technical information. Location: United States, with servers around the world. Privacy policy
- Google LLC (Search Console) – provides aggregated, anonymous search data. Location: United States. Privacy policy
In rare cases we may have to disclose information to a public authority where New Zealand law requires it.
Information held outside New Zealand
Our service providers are based overseas, so the technical information described above is stored and processed outside New Zealand, mainly in Germany and the United States. We remain responsible for that information under the Privacy Act 2020, and we choose established providers that apply their own security and privacy safeguards.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, alteration and disclosure. These include:
- HTTPS encryption across the whole website
- Cloudflare’s security infrastructure, including DDoS protection, a web application firewall and bot management
- regular updates of WordPress, plugins and themes
- restricted access to the website’s administration area
- secure hosting with Hetzner
- secure storage of email correspondence
If a privacy breach occurs that has caused, or is likely to cause, serious harm, we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and the people affected as soon as practicable, as the Privacy Act 2020 requires.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to:
- ask for access to the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct that information if you think it is wrong or incomplete, or to attach a statement of the correction you asked for if we do not agree to change it
You can also ask us to delete an email enquiry you have sent us, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it.
To make a request, get in touch through our contact page. We will respond as soon as we reasonably can, and no later than 20 working days after receiving your request.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so that we have a chance to put things right.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, New Zealand’s privacy regulator, at privacy.org.nz.
Children and people under 18
kenoresults.nz covers topics related to gambling and is written for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to the website or to the law. The latest version is always published on this page with the date it was last updated. If we make a significant change, we will say so clearly on the website.
